Occasionally, an unclassified item gets sent from your ERP system to sales-i. Since sales-i cannot display blank data (often referred to as “null”) we automatically replace this blank data with ‘Z’s.
Why are ‘Z’s used? Why’s it not called unclassified or something else?
‘Z’s are used for two reasons:
1. To prevent any chances of the ‘Z’s clashing with any of your existing data.
2. To allow you to easily sort your sales data - ‘Z’s will appear at the top or bottom of the list.
In this example, rows 1 doesn’t have any values against the Sales Person field.
Therefore this empty cell will be populated with ‘z’.
